DONE: Target confirmed interest, £60m for striker, Deal Close

Arsenal should pay £60m for world-class striker

Arsenal have reportedly been aware that it will take an offer of £60m to sign Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.

The North Londoners are understood to be in the market for a new striker after failing to end in the top four of the Premier League table and are known to hold an interest in Lacazette.

However, as reported by The Telegraph, they will have to break their current transfer record if they want to land the 26-year-old at the Emirates Stadium.

Up until earlier, Lacazette had been expected to join Atletico Madrid. However, their transfer ban has resulted in other teams looking to take advantage of their current race.

During his time at Lyon, Lacazette has netted a total of 119 goals from 248 matches in all tournaments, involving 36 coming during this campaign.

Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has talked up the possible arrival of Lacazette ahead of the next season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal look set to miss out on Hoffenheim playmaker Nadiem Amiri, after the 20-year-old agreed on a new contract with the Bundesliga club.

Amiri enjoyed an amazing season last season, scoring twice and making four assists in 33 league matches.

And his impressive displays led to stories linking the youngster with a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides.

The Gunners were keen on a deal for the midfielder, while Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach also in the race.

But  Hoffenheim have strongly resisted their advances and have secured their prized asset down for an extra three years.

Amiri, who can also operate as a central midfielder and a winger, represented Germany up to under-21 level before choosing to change his allegiance to Afghanistan.

"Yes, I know that" - Arsenal transfer target finally confirms interest

Sunderland youngster Joel Asoro has confirmed he is aware of Arsenal’s interest in him and admits it has come as a shock.

Stories emerged last week that Arsene Wenger was chasing the Sweden Under-21 international and his Sunderland mate Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka as part of a £5 million double deal.

Asoro is now away with Sweden ahead of the Under-21 European Championships and was asked by Swedish outlets if he was aware of Arsenal’s interest.

“Yes, I know that, People were a little shocked because I have played very little first-team football. It is clear that people are surprised, but we’ll see what happens, I’ve heard a little bit, but if I think about it too much, it becomes ‘what if, what if.” – he said.

“I try not to think about it too much. It came as a shock. It is clear clubs contact each other and stuff, but it’s my agent in charge of it. I try to focus on my football.” – He Added.

Meanwhile, Arsenal target Andre Silva is having a medical at AC Milan ahead of a £33.5m transfer.

The Porto striker has been chased by North Londoner’s scouts this campaign and had been linked with a summer transfer to North London.

However, they will now have to look outside with Milan closing in on the signing of the 21-year-old talent.

Silva strongly proved himself as one of the Europe’s most exciting young footballers with 21 goals in 44 first-team displays last season and has already netted seven times for Portugal in only eight matches.

His illustrious countryman Cristiano Ronaldo even urged his club Real Madrid to make a move for the star as a summer transfer saga loomed.

However, Milan have moved quickly to snare their target, who is now only a finalised a medical away from joining the Rossoneri, as reported by the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Deal Close: The 21-year-old Arsenal on the verge of joining Euro giants

Juventus have finally reached an agreement with Sampdoria to sign Chelsea and Arsenal target Patrik Schick.

The Serie A champions have been front-runners in the race to land the Czech striker but their failure to complete a deal had given the chasing pack hope of signing him this summer.

The 21-year-old impressed in his debut season in Serie A, scoring 11 goals in 32 appearances following his move from Sparta Prague last summer.

With a release clause of just £21m, Sampdoria have been bracing themselves for bids with Juve linked with him as early as January.

And now, according to reports in Italy, they have reached an agreement to sign the striker on loan for the whole of next season before signing him permanently this time next year.

The fee is said to be around £26.5m, which is more than his release clause, but the payments will be staggered over the next four years.

In other transfer news, Arsenal star Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is believed to be Liverpool radar as Jurgen Klopp failed to sign As Roma Egyptian wing wizard Mohamed Salah.
