Arsene Wenger identified £25m rated UCL star as a major transfer target

Arsene Wenger has named Monaco’s Thomas Lemar as a major midfield target this summer. The Arsenal coach is a great admirer of the 21-year-old and is extreme to bolster his Gunners in that department during the next transfer window.

The evidence that Wenger is pushing for the deal is, of course, another clear indication he wants to remain on as head coach beyond the expiration of his current contract at the end of the season.

Lemar has been a revelation in French football.
He made a move from Caen to Monaco in 2015, has received a call-up to France’s senior sides where he has won two caps and has impressed as his club stormed into the Champions League semi-finals.

Wenger has claimed in the past he liked him and was interested before he even joined Monaco although his price tag is now expected to be well more than £25million.

The Gunners are desperate to refurbish their team over the summer.

They are sure of signing prized Schalke and Bosnia left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer.

Although the North Londoners could offload star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who will both have only 12 months left on their deals, they are determined to spend big too after a disappointing season.
