Arsenal Trending Today: Done Deal, 10 goals striker linked, Cazorla’s replacement

Confirmed: Bundesliga club are interested 10 goals Arsenal striker

The former Arsenal attacker has enjoyed an excellent campaign at Werder Bremen and is now being strongly linked with a move away from the team

RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has annoucned interest in landing former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen.

The youngster has been a particularly bright place in a largely strong season for Alexander Nouri’s side, who are sixth in the Bundesliga table with three games left.

Gnabry has netted 10 goals in 24 league matches since joining from the North Londoners in a €5 million deal last term and his great form has seen him linked with a potential move to Borussia Dortmund.

Leipzig have now become candidates for his services, however, as they look to bolester their squad for another assault on the domestic cronw and the Champions League next campaign.

“Gnabry is an interesting player, He is a very fast player with a good finish and certainly one of the hottest properties in German football.” – Hasenhuttl told Sky Sport News.

Arsenal identified an ideal replacement for Santi Cazorla

Arsenal have reportedly recognised Malaga star Pablo Fornals as a long-term successor for Santi Cazorla.

The youngster is expected to leave Malaga this summer, with La Liga club Valencia believed to be leading the chase for his services before Arsenal made their interest known.

The Stories in Spain suggest that Fornals is now delaying the move to Valencia as he set to see whether a transfer to the Gunners materialises.

The Spaniard could be signed for just £10m due to a release clause in his deal, making him a great proposition for Arsene Wenger as he looks to bolster his injury-prone midfield options.

The midfielder, who has netted six goals in 29 La Liga matches this campaign, could end up succeeding 32-year-old ace Cazorla, who has been sidelined since October with an Achilles damage.

Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka has not held ‘intensive’ discussions with Schalke amid interest from Arsenal, as suggested by sporting director Christian Heidel.

The midfielder’s current contract ends at the end of next campaign, and Schalke are believed to be keen to cash in on him if they do not agree a new deal this summer.

The player has enjoyed a good campaign with the Bundesliga club, scoring eight goals in 38 games and has drawn interest from Arsene Wenger’s team, who are set to repair this summer.

And Heidel offered the North Londoners hope of signing the 22-year-old.

‘I think he’s made his position relatively clear, but I still can’t say more’ We’ve yet to hold intensive talks.” – Heidel claimed.

Deal Done: Arsenal target agrees £40,000-a-week long-term contract

Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has agreed to snub Arsenal to stay at Goodison Park, according to reports.

Calvert-Lewin has been a big hit for Everton this campaign.

The 20-year-old has played 10 Premier League appearances since being given his debut by Ronald Koeman back in December.

The Gunners are admirers with head coach Arsene Wenger keen to sign him at North London.

But, the Daily Star report Everton have agreed on a new five-year contract with the footballer.

Calvert-Lewin’s current deal ends in 2020, but the attacker has been offered the salary of £40,000-a-week to remain until 2022.

News that he has agreed to stay at Goodison Park will be a major blow for The Gunners.

And Arsenal also faces heartache in their race for Lyon ace Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman will only entertain proposals this summer from sides in the Champions League next campaign.

“This summer I might go for a breath of fresh air and try something different, always with the idea of progressing in football and as a person,” he told UEFA.com.

“[The team I join] will have to be in the Champions League and play good football – passing the ball, not just hitting it from box to box. Not kick and rush. That would not work for me.” – He added.
