Arsenal man “Verbally” Agree to sign new deal before the end of the season

9jagift brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the world.

Arsene Wenger has verbally agreed a two year deal with Arsenal chiefs but is still unconvinced if he should continue or not, according to The Mirror via arsenalstation.com.

The boss future has been the subject of speculation in recent months and it was thought he wasn’t going to make a decision on his future until April.

Club chiefs have succeeded in convincing the manager into giving an indication of what he wants to do and he appears to have told them that he would prefer to continue at the Emirates.

The report claims Wenger held talks with the club’s hierarchy recently and has agreed the financial package of the new two year deal.

However, he is worried about the growing unrest among Gooners at the Emirates, Wenger has come under serious criticism following a string of poor performances which left us out of the title race.

Fans staged a protest against him in Tuesday’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich, the second massive protest against the boss within a year, after same was held in a league game against Norwich May last year.

And Wenger is still unconvinced if he should continue as he is running out of patience with the fans.

This is a big hint that he could still sign a new deal here as he wouldn’t consider talking to the club about a new contract if he was seriously considering an exit.

Most Gooners may not like this, A poll held on twitter last weekend revealed that majority of the fans want Wenger to leave and any confirmation that he would stay could irk some of us.

Honestly, I don’t know what to think of this Wenger saga, it does look like we need a fresh hand in charge if we want to challenge for major titles again but he has been a part and parcel of this club that he knows everything about us and how best to run it. How he is failing to get things right is a bit baffling.
