Arsenal Beating Two European giants in race to sign this star Midfielder – Reports

9jagift brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the world.

Arsenal are one of the clubs chasing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud

We have been linked with a host of midfielders in recent weeks as we prepare to strengthen its squad ahead of next season.

Arsenal’s midfield was seriously exposed this season by injuries and suspensions and it appears club chiefs are looking to avoid same scenario happening next year.

Dahoud who was one of football’s most sought after players last summer is reportedly on Wenger’s wish list. Premier League rivals Liverpool tried to sign the German U21 star last summer but Monchengladbach were not willing to lose another midfielder after losing Granit Xhaka.

The midfielder’s form has deteriorated this year, scoring just one goal and providing five assists in 29 games this season compared to the five goals and nine assists in 41 games he had to his name last year.

But that hasn’t deterred Arsenal, Juventus and AC Milan who are all interested in the young man. However the former duo are leading Milan in the race to sign the midfielder.

Arsenal’s interest in Dahoud isn’t surprising, considering our struggles this season but I don’t think he is our first choice target to strengthen the midfield position this summer.

He may be our easiest target considering we have a good relationship with Monchengladbach after the Xhaka deal and that could give us an edge over others in the race for his services.
