Revealed: Wenger has already found a Fantastic replacement for Sanchez

9jagift.com brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the world.

Arsene Wenger has lined up Marco Reus as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is stalling on signing a new contract at Arsenal, according to The Daily Star.

Sanchez will be entering into the final 18 months of his contract at Arsenal in January and he is not even close to signing a new contract despite talks ongoing since August.

Reports claim negotiations have not made much progress because the striker has demanded a significant pay rise and a release clause in his new deal.

While Arsenal are prepared to offer him an improved deal, we are reluctant to include a release clause in his contract as it would leave us powerless should another club comes in for him.

This has placed the Chilean’s long-term future at Arsenal in doubt and Wenger wants Reus as his replacement, should he decide to leave.

Wenger is reportedly a big fan of the Germany attacker and is keen to bring him to the Emirates but will only make a move for the German if Sanchez leaves the Emirates.

Reus has established himself as one of Europe’s best forward in at BVB and will be a great addition to our squad. However, his injury problems should be a concern. Reus has spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch and I don’t think Arsenal need such players at the moment.

In a league like the Premier League that is very competitive, it wouldn’t be a good thing having your best players out injured more than when they are involved on the pitch and I think that should be the only stumbling block to Reus’ move.
