Huge Blow: Arsenal Star Major Doubt For North London Derby

Just before the all-important North London derby, Arsenal have suffered a huge injury blow as their star right-back Hector Bellerin is a doubt for the game on Sunday. The Spain international picked up a knock during a last-minute training session before the Champions League clash against Ludogorets. He was subsequently left out of the squad to face the Bulgarian Champions and is in a race against time to get fit for the clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Bellerin is not the only injury concern for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, as in-form forward Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal are also recovering from their injuries and did not travel to Sofia for the Champions League clash. However, the Gunners boss asserted that Walcott is nearing full fitness and can play against the Spurs at the Emirates.

The Arsenal chief said: “Who did not travel is Monreal, Cazorla and Bellerin, Walcott, both are more or less injuries.

“Some of them being very close, like Walcott. Bellerin had a little incident in the last minute of training so they are not here.”

But the real concern for Wenger will be Bellerin’s injury. The Spanish has been one of the most vital parts of Wenger’s plan this season and his absence will be a huge loss for the Gunners against a team which is yet to lose a single game in the Premier League. Arsenal have made one of their finest starts to the season in recent times and will be looking to continue their impressive run on Sunday. With 23 points from 10 games, Arsenal are level on points with table-toppers Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Arsenal produced one more magnificent performance against Ludogorets to prove their high ambitions this year. The high-flying English outfit came from behind to defeat the Bulgarian champions and seal their spot in the last 16 of the continental championship. They were trailing 2-0 after just 15 minutes but were level by the break following goals from Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud. Mesut Ozil capped off a fine night for his team with a sublime winner in the 87th minute.
