Arsenal problems continue as Explosive attacker could miss Man United clash

Arsenal may be without the services of winger Theo Walcott, for this Saturday’s trip to Old Trafford, after reports have suggested that he is awaiting to become a father for the second time in the next few days.

The England international has made a promising start to the season, having returned to his former role on the right wing where he has grabbed himself eight goals.

Walcott’s form has also seen him regain his place in Gareth Southgate’s England side and featured in his country’s 2-2 draw with Spain last Tuesday.

Despite being fully fit, the winger may be unavailable for Arsenal’s upcoming match against Manchester United as his wife, Melanie Slade, is expected to give birth to the couple’s second child any time from now.

Arsene Wenger may have to wait until Saturday to discover if Walcott will be available for selection and will already be making contingency plans should the Englishman pull out of the squad.

Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is likely to be chosen if Walcott does not make the trip up to Manchester and will be keen to take a rare opportunity in the starting line up.

The Gunners may head into the crucial meeting with United as underdogs, despite being two places above Jose Mourinho’s team in the table.

Wenger’s team have a poor record at Old Trafford in the last 10 years and the Frenchman is yet to get the better of counterpart, Jose Mourinho, in a Premier League fixture.

Arsenal will be desperate to have Walcott available as they seek to put right those two disappointing records but will simply have to wait for nature to take its course before knowing if this seasons’ joint top scorer will make the starting lineup on Saturday lunchtime.
