Arsenal News Report: Wenger eyes £54m Argentine & 27-year-old Sevilla ace on radar
The in-form Argentina international, who has only made a handful of appearances this season for Diego Simeone’s side, is under contract with Los Colchoneros until 2018.
The English media outlets also claim that Arsene Wenger’s side have earmarked Gimenez to supplement Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny at the heart of their central defence.
However, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is also believed to rate the Uruguayan highly, and is keen to sign him to strengthen a back line left reeling by several injuries.
The release clause of Jose Gimenez at Atletico Madrid is reportedly set at £54m.
Meanwhile, the Premier League’s top clubs will definitely be on red alert as the agent of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca admits that his client may think a move away from the San Siro in the near future, according to the Football Italia.

He has constantly been linked with French side Paris Saint-Germain and a reunion with his ex-Sevilla manager Unai Emery.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have entered the race for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, but have to face competition from their London rivals Chelsea.
The ex-Stoke City player has risen to prominence since his move from The Potters to La Liga last season.
It is believed that Premier League’s reigning champions Leicester City have failed in their bid to bring him back to England this summer. And now, according to the Spanish publication Sport, both Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in him.
The 27-year-old midfielder, has a contract with Sevilla until 2019 but has a release clause of £26.7m. The price tag of the French star is three times more the £8.9m Stoke Cityreceived for him last year.

The midfielder has quickly become a regular for the La Liga outfit when he arrived in Sevilla and helped them to the Europa League title against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool back in May. He has made 49 apps in total, scoring five times.
