Arsenal Desperate to Sign English Sensation Ademola Lookman

According to the Mirror, reports Everton have joined the race to sign Championship outfits Charlton rising star Ademola Lookman.

The Daily Mirror  reported that Roland Koeman’s side are desperate to strengthen their youth ranks with making a January swoop for the 19-year-old attacker, however, Arsenal are still favourites to sign his signature.

Charlton are believed to be demanding £10m for Arsenal and Everton transfer target.

Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh, who discovered the likes of Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy for Leicester as a scout, now he has been keeping tabs on a 20-year-old striker who has been tipped to have a bright future.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Charlton striker since the last summer, however, they have refused to meet the asking price of Champions club, while Koeman is likely to get the financial backing from his majority shareholder.

Speaking of Koeman, Moshiri said: “The manager is totally committed and he is ruthless.

“If a player is not up to it, he uses another player and eventually he buys one. I think there are no sentimental issues there.

“Koeman is Koeman. He does what he wants and I support him.

“The job of the owner and the chairman (Bill Kenwright) is simply to hire and fire a manager – the rest is down to him.

“Our job is to back him. Once we hire a manager we back him. He has the personality, the aura, and the ability. We trust him. He achieved sixth and seventh at Southampton.”
