Wenger Confirms: Arsenal star will miss Swansea clash

As Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has confirmed, the Gunners centre-forward Olivier Giroud will miss Arsenal’s clash against Swansea City in the Premier League this weekend.The 30-year-old striker has been struggling with a toe injury in recent weeks and hasn’t featured in Arsenal matches since coming off the bench during Gunners’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

The France international is yet to start a game for Arsene Wenger’s side this season and the Arsenal boss confirmed that he will not be involved again for Swansea clash.

During his his pre-match press conference, the French manager provided latest injury updates for his squad: ‘Giroud will not be available.

‘[Aaron] Ramsey will not be available.

‘[Francis] Coquelin is back. Apparently we have good news [from international players].’

Arsene Wenger also provided an upbeat bulletin on the fitness of Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil. The 27-year-old Germany international had been substituted at half-time during the world champions’ fixture against Northern Ireland this week but the former Real Madrid playmaker will be available to feature against the Swansea City.
