Injury Blow – Arsenal Star Ruled Out Of Middlesbrough Clash
Arsenal have had a fairly decent start to the season as they are the joint leaders of the Premier League along with Manchester City. Arsenal are set to take on Middlesbrough at home on 22nd October (Today) but according to a latest statement by Arsene Wenger, Santi Cazorla would not feature in the game.
Santi has been an extremely instrumental part of the Arsenal squad this season having featured in all the games. The Spaniard has impressed by bagging 2 goals and 3 assists to his name in just 11 outings.
Santi received a knock in Arsenal’s thumping 6-0 victory at home in UEFA Champions League against Ludogorets. The 31 year old faces a late fitness test prior to the game against Middlesbrough.
Excerpts from Arsene Wenger’s Press Conference,
From Wednesday night it looks like we have no big problems,
The only uncertainty I have is Santi Cazorla who got a kick.
We’ll see how he is today and nobody coming back. Of course, we lose Xhaka because he’s suspended. Everybody else should be available.
To add to Arsene Wenger’s vows, Arsenal would go into the game without 3 key players at least. Oliver Giroud (toe) and Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) would return to action next week. Danny Welbeck (knee) is also going to miss the fixture.
Arsenal host Middlesbrough looking to continue their 11-match unbeaten streak across all competitions and will move top of the Premier League with a win.
