Alexis Sanchez is back in London and getting ready for the new season with Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to declare himself to be working hard on his fitness as he turns his attentions towards the new Premier League season with Arsenal.

The Chile international jetted back to the UK recently after enjoying an extended summer holiday following his involvement in the Copa America with his national side.

Sanchez is now back in London and beginning his pre-season training regime as he looks to build up his fitness levels as quickly as possible ahead of the 2016-17 season.

And the 27-year-old attacker posted the picture above of himself enjoying some dinner out at Novikov in Mayfair in London on Sunday evening after gruelling training session.

Sanchez shared the photo on his personalInstagram account and wrote: “After a hard workout, dinner with friends.”

Boss Confirms Arsenal will buy a new striker in the summer

Premier League giants Arsenal have signed midfielder Granit Xhaka, defender Rob Holding and Japanese forward Takuma Asano already this summer and according to the latest reports Gunners will sign a quality striker before the 2016/17 season starts.

Earlier today Arsenal boss revealed that he is actively looking to sign experienced forward before the season starts

The Gunners have failed to sign their long-term target Gonzalo Higuain before his £75.3m switch to Serie A champions Juventus earlier this week and already seen their bid for French forward Lacazette turned down.

Despite these setbacks, Wenger has revealed that he is actively seeking for a forward and expected to appear before the season  takes start.

“At the moment I have not too many attacking options regarding experienced players,’ he said after Arsenal’s 2-1 win over an MLS All-Star team in San Jose.

“But let’s not forget we still have a few players at home. There are also a few players who did not play [against the MLS All-Star team], like [Santi] Cazorla and of course [Mesut] Ozil and [Aaron] Ramsey are at home. [Olivier] Giroud is also not here.

“So we have options, but we will still look outside to find one more.”

Forget Riyad Mahrez we have Oxlade-Chamberlain

Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is having such a good pre-season that Arsenal might forget all about Riyad Mahrez.

The Leicester City winger is being heavily linked with a move to the Gunners this summer – and Wenger did nothing to deny the story when asked about it last night.

As far as we know there has been no deal struck and Claudio Ranieri has been clear stating that the Algerian winger’s future is at the King Power Stadium.

But he might not have anything to worry about if left wing rival Oxlade-Chamberlain keeps turning in strong performances in pre-season.

He scored a beauty in the 1-1 draw with Lens earlier this month and has followed that up with a great solo effort against Chivas Guadalajara this morning.

It was a moment of top quality from the English youngster, and gave a rare glimpse of what he’s capable of when he’s not nursing an injury.

Fans have been quick to share their delight at the Ox show – and many are prepared to forget all about Mahrez if they were to have a fit and firing Oxlade-Chamberlain at their disposal:

ARSENAL ended their tour of the US with a comfortable victory in Los Angeles.

Rob Holding celebrates scoring Arsenal's opener

Fresh from their 2-1 win over MLS All-Stars on Friday, the Gunners wasted no time in putting on a show for their fans across the pond.

The Gunners started brightly with Theo Walcott leading the line as he was eager to impress from the off by causing the Chivas defence plenty of problems with his speed and trickery.

Rob Holding scored the opener on 34 minutes when he tapped in from close range after Santi Cazorla’s free-kick found Calum Chambers at the back post who crossed it for the new signing.

Shortly after the break, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain went on a silky run down the right wing before carving a route between two defenders and calmly slotting past goalkeeper Jose Antonio Rodriguez.

Six minutes later Chuba Akpom scored his second goal in successive matches after Mathieu Debuchy crossed for the 20-year-old to tap in from six yards.

With 15 minutes to go the Mexican outfit were handed a consolation goal as Debuchy tripped Alejandro Zendejas inside the box and substitute Angel Zaldivar duly converted from the spot.

Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Ospina; Bellerin, Chambers, Holding, Monreal; Xhaka, Coquelin; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Iwobi; Walcott

Confirmed: Arsenal to complete yet another summer transfer signing in the next 48 hours

Defender Shkodran Mustafi will be announced as an Arsenal player next week, reports in Italy have claimed.

The Gunners have opened talks with Valencia to make the central defender their fourth signing of the summer.

If the transfer goes through, the 24-year-old will take over from fellow German Per Mertesacker who will be sidelined for months after suffering a knee injury.

Meanwhile, transfer expert Emanuele Giulianelli has revealed on Twitter that the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement as the Spanish giants want €5million more than what the Gunners offered.

According to recent reports, Arsenal want to secure the services of the player for half of his £50 million buy-out clause.

Valencia are expected to accept the offer as they need to recoup funds having failed to qualify for this season's Champions League.

BREAKING NEWS: JAMB Officially Withdraws 2016 Admission List (See Why)

In a statement issued on Sunday by Fabian Benjamin, spokesman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), board has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for admission earlier sent to the tertiary institutions.

The examination body explained that the decision was to ensure that the Senate of Universities perform their statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, at the policy committee meeting.

The statement read;

“This is to ensure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting.

“The earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission.

“Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.

MLS ALL STAR 1 : 2 ARSENAL

IN ACTION: Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain

Didier Drogba was on target and looked like he would deny the Gunners a pre-season win but a tap-in from the starlet proved the difference.

Fine work from Nacho Monreal down the left-hand side gave Akpom the simplest of finishes to give Arsenal the win.

Earlier in the match Drogba continued his sensational record against the Gunners and now has 16 goals in 16 appearances against Wenger's side.

Arsenal had started the match well with Joel Campbell scoring a penalty after being hauled down by Laurent Ciman when through on goal.

But the north London side were left frustrated throughout by an All-Stars team which featured the likes of Kaka, Andrea Pirlo and Clint Dempsey.

Drogba equalised on the stroke of half-time at the third attempt of asking after a fine Petr Cech save and a goal-line clearance from debutant Rob Holding. But it was Akpom who scored the crucial goal in the 87th minute to give Arsenal the victory.

Next up for the Gunners on their pre-season tour of North America is Mexican side Chivas de Guadalajara on Monday.

Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey, Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil were all missing for Arsenal after they reached the latter stages of Euro 2016.

Arsenal open talks with German International

Arsenal are in talks with Valenciaabout the possibility of signing defender Shkodran Mustafi, as per a report from Sky.

Despite bringing in Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers earlier in the window, Arsenal have been left short of defensive cover after Per Mertersacker was ruled out for up to five months and Laurent Koscielny’s extended absence after he helped France get to the Euro 2016 final, where they ultimately lost to Portugal.

Valencia signed Mustafi from Sampdoria for around €8million and inserted a release clause of £42.1million into his contract.

Whilst Arsenal won’t be paying that amount for the 24-year-old, the report from Sky suggests that they may need to pay £25.3million plus £8.4million in incentive based add-ons.

That fee would make the Spanish side a tidy profit on the German and have been known to be a selling club in recent years.

If the move does take place, it’ll be Mustafi’s second attempt at making it in England. He was part of Everton’s academy back in 2009 but never made it into the first-team.

5 more Strikers Arsenal could sign this summer

This transfer window is getting a little bit ridiculous in terms of that it is 2 weeks left till the beginning of the season, and it doesn’t seem as if Arsene has got his act together. It’s almost comical the mere insinuation that we could be in the run in for the title. If we have learnt anything from last season it is if you don’t hit the ground running from day one, you shouldn’t expect to build up steam at the latter stages of the season. Anyway, rather than continue ranting on about how annoyed I am about the lack of activity I feel that it is best to help identify targets. In this case 5 more striking options (a continuation of the ones I suggested almost 2 months ago).

5) Javier Hernandez (Chicharito)…. With 17 Goals in the Bundesliga finishing 4th in the league’s top scorers – with only the proverbial ‘freaks of nature’ Abumeyang, Muller and Lewandoski outscoring him; in his inaugural season, I might add. The ex-Manchester United Forward would be a welcome addition to our team. For those who don’t remember Chicharito; despite his slightly average size for a centre-forward at 5ft 9in was well renowned for his ariel presence as well as presenting a real ‘fox in the box’ mentality which really excelled during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. Of course having signed a new contract not that long ago he may prove difficult to bring to the Emirates but a fee of around £25 million should be tempting enough.

4) Wissam Ben Yedder… 17 Goals and 5 assists for Toulouse last season. A very technically gifted striker, he has proved himself to be a real nuisance to defenders in the French League over the last four years and has consistently found himself amongst the top scorers in the French league; which doesn’t seem impressive until you ‘realise that he has done that while playing at the ‘Aston Villa of the French League’ Toulouse ( I mean in the sense that they are always relegation candidates). Of course, his versatility is what makes this prospect particularly interesting; as he presents the ability to offer support as a ‘number 10’ or function perfectly as a ‘number 9’ so tactically offers many attacking combinations which Arsenal have lacked for years (I mean lets be honest most of us can name Arsenal’s starting lineup in our sleep). With Sevilla and our retard cousins in white, to name a couple, circling around the very tempting fee of £15 Million he may not be around for long.

3) Borja Gonzales…A man who despite some very impressive scoring records cannot get a game at parent club Atletico Madrid and has been on loan for 5 seasons since his initial arrival at Athletico. Last season Borja scored 18 Goals in 36 for Eibar in La Liga and the season prior scored 22 goals in 39 appearances for Zaragoza in the Segunda Division. At 23 he has shown a transition worthy of warranting a starting place at just about any club as his ability to adjust to the competitiveness of La Liga and to be consistent at that shows a level of maturity well beyond his age. Given Atletico Madrid’s endowment in terms of players, it would be hard to see Borja getting the playing time he so clearly deserves and at his age he needs. A bid of around £18 Million (Give or Take £4 Million) should be enough to prize him away from the Vincente Calderon.

2) Arkadiusz Milik… The Polish Wonderkid, 21 Goals and 7 Assists in 28 Appearances for Ajax, he has definitely raised a few eyebrows. Tipped as the ‘future of Polish football’, Milik’s style of play mimics fellow Polish international and Bayern Munich goal machine Robert Lewandowski, incredible lay off play, disgusting left foot (I mean this in the positive sense, he literally looks like he would break the net whenever he shoots) and at 22 seems to be developing at a staggering rate, having made his international debut at the Euro championships, and featured in quite a few games at that, has attracted the attention of a few clubs in Europe needing a Centre forward, as he appears ready to take centre stage in one of Europes top teams. It must be noted though, supposedly Napoli have agreed on a fee according to various sources, but no official confirmation from either Ajax or Napoli that a deal has been concluded, I only write this because we could pull off a John Obi Mikel on Napoli with the supposed transfer fee in the region of £26 Million a last ditch £31 Million is mere peanuts for the man branded as the new Lewandoski.

1) Domenico Berardi… This may come has a huge surprise but hear me out; at 21 Years of age he has pretty much established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Italian Football, scoring 39 Goals and Assisting 23 Times in 93 Serie A, apperances for Sassuolo; arguably last season wasn’t his greatest as he only amassed 7 league goals and 6 Assists in 26 appearances, experimentation tactic wise led to a decrease in productivity . Berardi has the ability to play literally anywhere in attack, boasting attributes of a winger in terms of crossing and set piece taking ability, coupled with attacking midfielder attributes in killer through balls and topped off by a striker’s intuitive nature, eye for goal and ariel presence; this hybrid footballer is exactly what Arsenal need. To make this transfer, even more, tantalising is the clause in his contract that allowed Juventus to buy him from Sassuolo by virtue of their part ownership expires in 2 days, not that they need any more forwards. It’s assumed a fee upwards of £25Million would be enough to see this fantastic player in an Arsenal shirt.

I clearly do not like Wenger’s style of management; as much as I very appreciate of what he has done my patience has worn thin. I keep hearing ‘the right player at the right price’, however this list is clearly an example that I don’t think Wenger is doing enough and I question his judgement and competency when it comes to finding that supposed ‘Great White Buffalo’ (Yes that’s a Hot Tub Time Machine Reference). I’m tired of going through the ritual of come the end of April we’re blaming a lack of goals for our lack of competitiveness. Here is an opportunity to sign some someone and if I hear that he wasn’t able to find anyone, I will lose it. Note I have purposefully avoided Lacazette because there is way too much noise being made on that front. Not saying he isn’t good but I don’t see Wenger paying the fee and dealing with a team that airs its dirty laundry in public.

Arsenal Fans not Happy with Theo Walcott 's Performance

Another Premier League season is almost upon us, but the more things change, the more things stay the same.

At least that’s how a lot of Arsenal fans feel tonight watching Theo Walcott.

The 27-year-old forward has endured a frustrating summer, having been left out of England’s squad for Euro 2016, and knows he’s probably drinking in the Last Chance Saloon when it comes to the opinion of many Gooners.

Embed from Getty Images

He’ll know the 2016/17 season is probably the most crucial of his career so far, but it hasn’t even started yet and he’s already getting a power of stick.

Walcott was chosen by Arsene Wenger to lead the line in tonight’s glamour friendly against the MLS All Stars – with the likes of Kaka, Andrea Pirlo and Didier Drogba lining-up for the American side.

But rather than putting in an eye-catching performance, Walcott was at his frustrating best, squandering a series of chances.

His pace was there, sure, but on at least three occasions, he chose the wrong pass and wasted a decent breakaway.

It’s fair to say a lot of people weren’t impressed:

SIX SENIOR ARSENAL PLAYERS COULD MISS OPENING GAME OF THE SEASON AFTER LATEST INJURY SETBACK

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker will miss the club’s pre-season tour of America with a knee problem, which could leave Arsene Wenger’s side without their two senior centre-backs for the start of the Premier League season.

With Mertesacker picking up a knee problem, the north London team could be forced to field youngster Callum Chambers and Gabriel Paulista in their opening Premier League fixture against Liverpool on 14 August.

France international Laurent Koscielny is currently on an extended break after participating for his home country at Euro 2016.

It now means that Wenger could be without six senior players come the opening day game with Aaron Ramsey, Koscielny, Alexis Sanchez, Mezut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Mertesacker all potentially missing through injury or rest.

Robin van Persie to PSG?

RVP pursued by PSG

Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is reportedly the subject to interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Dutchman has been tipped to leave Fenerbahce this summer.

The 32-year-old joined Fener from Manchester United last year after he fell out-of-favour under former boss Louis van Gaal. He has since had a frustrating time at the Istanbul outfit with manager Vitor Pereira reluctant to offer him 90 minutes of a single game. According to French daily L'Equipe, Les Parisiens chief Patrick Kluivert has made contact with Van Persie regarding a potential switch to Ligue 1. Unai Emery's side are looking to add experienced face to their attack front following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Despite his struggles last term, Van Persie managed to net 20 goals in 45 outings for Fenerbahce.

Arsenal complete agreement with Serie A giants: Deal to be announced tomorrow

Arsenal have agreed to send their goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny back on loan to the Serie A club AS Roma. Italian newspaper Il Tempohave confirmed positive talks between the two clubs with a deal expected to be announced some time in next 24 hours.

The same has been confirmed by Roma manager Luciano Spalletti who earlier this week commented that Roma are trying to extend Szczesny’s stay at Stadio Olimpico.

Szczesny spent last season on loan with AS Roma making 26 appearances and is wanted by the Serie A club despite completing a deal to sign the Brazilian goal keeper Alisson earlier this summer.

Speaking with Evening StandardSpalletti said:“Both the goalkeepers [Alisson and Lobont] are strong, but we still don’t have Szczesny.”

According to Il tempo, the two clubs will split Szczesny’s £2.5m-per-season salary while Arsenal will net around £800,000 (€1m) for the loan renewal.

Arsenal favorites to sign Anthony Martial

The recent fiasco surrounding Anthony Martialand being snubbed from his number 9 jersey by Manchester United has seen the French striker tipped with a move away from Old Trafford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the new number 9 for Man United and it has not gone well with the young French striker, reports the trusted French journal RMC.

Soon after the news, he changed his social media profile pictures to launch his new brand ‘AM9’, while he put a snap wearing his old United 9 shirt as his cover photo.

It has led the media to draw conclusions of his unhappiness at the club and an itching desire to part ways with The Red Devils amid the squad number row.

As vague as it may sound but Daily Express claim that odds on Martial quitting Manchester United have been going down like pack or cards withArsenal leading the race.

According to Ladbrokes, Gunners have seen their chances of signing Martial come frown from 9/1 to 11/2 (almost half) in last 24 hours. ElsewherePSG are second with 9/1 while Chelsea are the third favorite and are priced at 16/1.

Do we buy this story?

Absolutely not! Martial is not stupid enough to quit on Manchester United who took a £36million gamble on him last summer and have seen the 20-year old forward turn in to an important part of their team.

According to reports, Martial is set to be handed the number 11 jersey this summer (previously worn by Ryan Giggs) which is seen as a huge honor for him.

Confirmed: Arsenal new signing reveals he will join on Saturday

He told close friends that he’ll officially arrive at the club on Saturday, according to reports in own goal Nigeria.

The Nigerian confirmed earlier this week on Facebook that he had completed his move to the north London side after signing a 5-year deal from the Diamond Academy, posting a photo of himself with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

It’s a name that most Arsenal fans might not have heard before; a name that resembles, and is representative of the Gunners interest in raw, exceptional young talent.

Agent and brother Allwell Nwakali revealed last week that obligations to the Nigeria U20 squad have held up the prodigy’s move.

The report now claims that Nwakali has confirmed to close friends that he’ll officially arrive in North London on Saturday to officially complete his transfer. It further states that the teenager has already sealed a visa to work in the UK.

French giants striker Lacazette could join Arsenal as part of a £75m “double swoop”

French giants Lyon striker and Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette is now just 2/1 to join Gunners this summer.

The Striker has lately revealed his wish to leave Ligue 1 which is likely to make Arsenal’ manager Arsene Wenger step up his interest in the forward.

With just three weeks to go until the start of the campaign, The French manager is keen to overhaul to his front line and The Frenchman could be his key target.

Having reportedly told Lyon officials he wants out this summer, a whole host of sides will be after The Frenchman’s services, with PSG and West Ham 7/1 behind Gunners ready to pounce.

“It seems like the perfect match Lacazette wants a new challenge and the Gunners want a new forward, and today’s odds are suggesting the striker could be heading to the Emirates pretty soon.” – Ladbrokes News’ Alex Apati claimed.

And The Mirror understood that Mahrez could join as part of a £75m “double swoop” that would also notice Alexandre Lacazette travel to London.

The Lyon forward is believed to be resigned to remaining at the Ligue 1 side for now, after reports in France last week, yet Gunner have obviously not lost faith yet.

Arsenal transfer round-up and additional news: Riyad Mahrez update; Croatian midfielder link; FA respond to Wenger rumours

All of Arsenal's latest news rounded up right here, including transfer updates and latest club news.

Italian media outlet Gazzamercato are reporting that Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Meanwhile, The Sun have reported how Chelsea have seemingly joined the race to sign Riyad Mahrez after the Leicester City man's name was pictured on the back of a Blues shirt on Adidas's official website.

In other transfer news, experienced French full-back Mathieu Debuchy looks like he could leave the Emirates this summer, according toEurosport via French media outlet Le Parisien.

Bordeaux reportedly want to sign the former Newcastle man on a permanent deal, and it is likely he will be sold with Hector Bellerin seen firmly as first-choice right-back at Arsenal.

Per Mertesacker seemed to give Gunners boss Arsene Wenger a subtle hint when it comes to transfers after being quoted by The Sun as saying it was a miracle that Arsenal finished second last term.

"We turned things around at the end but it was kind of a miracle we finished runners-up.," he said. "A lot of transfer business has already been done and it won’t be easy for us this time, especially with all the signings going to the other clubs."

Quite how Wenger will take those comments remains to be seen...

In international football news, FA technical director Dan Ashworth has told The Evening Standard that Arsene Wenger was never first-choice for the England manager post.

"No," he said. "We only offered the job to one person and we offered the job to Sam Allardyce, obviously. There were a lot of rumours about who was favourite and who wasn’t. Wenger being first choice was not the case at all."

And finally, TALKSPORT pundit Stan Collymore has been baiting Gunners fans all week with a series of criticisms aimed at the club.

Firstly he questioned whether star pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are actually world-class with this message uploaded to his official

Then he claimed if he were an Arsenal fan, he would seriously be questioning if manager Arsene Wenger has the same hunger as other younger managers making their way in the Premier League, such as Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, as reported by The Mirror.

Germany's Mesut OzilMesut Ozil was criticised by Stan Collymore

GOOD NEWS : P-SQUARE is finally back

Am so Happy For them

My dear fans, P-Square is back. Ours is a journey that started from our mother’s womb. It was a journey that started from Primary School, continued to St. Murumba College, to when we were in University in Abuja. It was a journey in which we shared childhood memories and grown-up dreams. We are back because brothers do not let each other wander in the dark alone. We are back because we have tried the lonely road and it was not the same.

I want to take responsibility for what has happened and sincerely apologise to you our fans. For supporting us throughout this journey we owed you so much more than what you have had to endure and I apologise for that. We are embarking now on a new journey with exciting new management, new music and new ideas.

We cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and support throughout this difficult period. Maya Angelou once said that brotherhood is a condition that people have to work at. We will continue to work on that and you can be prepared to be blown away by this new phase of P-Square.

God bless you all and be assured that you have not seen anything yet!

Trending : Updates about Arsenal Transfer so far

"I’m going to be here until 2019" - Arsenal transfer target Argentine striker responds to contract speculations

Mauro Icardi’s agent and wife, Wanda Nara was in North London yesterday, glowing rumours a transfer to Arsenal was being considered. But, Icardi has declined any opinions he wants to leave Inter.

Talking to Corriere Dello Sport after his club Inter Mila’s 2-1 friendly triumph over Real Salt Lake last night, Argentine claimed: “I am here and I am fine here. I always say. I have a contract until 2019 with Inter, my team.

And on the official Inter website, The forward described himself as an “Interest”.

“I’m going to be here until 2019,””I have a contract, and we love it in Milan. The whole family wants to stay. It doesn’t distract me, I’ve been at Inter for three years, and it’s been the same thing every season. I’m an Interista.” – he said.

This story is another blow to Gunners and their race for a striker.

Gunners missed out on the signing of PL champion Jamie Vardy after he agreed to a new deal at King Power Stadium.

Another target Gonzalo Higuain appears incredible to come to the Emirates, with Serie A side Napoli want his release clause of around £79m, reported Gazette World.

That would almost double Arsenal record transfer fee when they spent £42.5m for Mesut Ozil in 2013

Agent Cofnirms: Gunners French striker Giroud set to stay at the Emirtaes

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud’s agent has stated that his client is not leaving London to land for Serie A club Napoli.

Arsenal are believed to be in the race for some high profile strikers this summer as the French manager Arsene Wenger wants to overhaul his squad ahead of next campaign.

Gunners have already landed midfielder Granit Xhaka and forward Takuma Asano so far this summer however are yet to sign a proven striker.

The Frenchman has already announced his wish to land a new forward this summer with the North Londoner’s failed in an offer to sign Jamie Vardy from Premier League giants.

“Everything I’ve read on the Giroud is not true. I personally have only said that if Arsenal want to sell it, then we will see, I do not know where [the Napoli story] came from. We never talked to Naples and there are no other persons appointed over me that can do this, we need to clarify this.” – Manuello toldTuttoMercatoWebb.

Gunners ended in the second position in the Premier League table last campaign, 10 points behind Premier League champions Leicester City, as they once again failed to gain the PL crown for the first time since 2004,

Alexandre Lacazette wants Arsenal move

France international Alexandre Lacazette has expressed his desire to leave Lyon, should one of Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain come knocking for his services.

The 25-year-old was the subject of interest from the Gunners last summer before he penned a fresh deal at Les Gones. Lacazette followed to have a good season with the French outfit as he guided them to a runners-up finish in Ligue 1. Lyon have been reluctant to let of Lacazette in the current transfer window, but according to L'Equipe, the player has requested to move on if either the Gunners or Les Parisiens table an offer for his signature. The Frenchman has racked over 20 goals in each of his last three seasons with the Ligue 1 giants. He currently has three years left on his Lyon contract.

Three worst and three best Arsenal performers from their 1-1 draw with Lens

Arsenal drew 1-1 with French outfit Lens in their first pre-season game of the summer, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain grabbing a late equaliser to avoid small embarrassment this evening.

Manager Arsene Wenger handed starts to Mathieu Debuchy, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Bordeaux, Chuba Akpom, Jeff Reine-Adelaide as well as senior duo Theo Walcott and Per Mertesacker.

The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in the opening stages was when Iwobi picked out Akpom, but the young striker fired his effort straight at the goalkeeper.

The visitors controlled possession throughout the half, but fell behind shortly before the interval as a mistake from Calum Chambers was punished as Mathias Autret slotted the ball into an empty net after Emi Martinez had denied Abdellah Zoubir.
A host of changes followed at the break and it was Oxlade-Chamberlain who finally equalised in the 82nd minute with a brilliant chipped finish after latching on to Serge Gnabry's perfectly weighted pass.

Arsenal line up massive £37m bid for Serie A centre-back

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly on the verge to leave the Serie A giants in the summer as he has been offered to Arsenal and Premier League club are ready to meet the release clause of the defender.

Arsenal are believed to be interested in signing the 25-year-old and willing to complete the deal as soon as possible; Senegalese international defender is valued around €45m, and they are close to agreeing to terms with the Serie A club.

The 25-year old Senegalese international defender Koulibaly has made 33 Serie A appearances for Italian giants Napoli during the 2015-16 season, helping his side finish second 9 points behind the from Italian giants Juventus.
He joined Napoli back in 2014 from Genk, having also spent time at French club Metz, and his club form has earned him six international caps for Senegal since making his debut for the national side in 2015, and now he is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in football.

GOOD NEWS : HIGUAIN Gives green light to Arsenal Transfer

Gonzalo Higuain is ready to accept a summer transfer to Arsenal if the Gunners put forward an official bid, as per the reports from Gazzetta dello Sports.

Italian media are convinced that Napoli President invited Arsenal to make a formal offer last night after learning Higuain’s desires to leave the club.

While Gazzetta are convinced that Huguain prefers a switch to Juventus but will also accept an offer from Arsenal if it were to come in the coming weeks.

Higuain has a £78m release clause to his contract which expires on July 31 and that is why Napoli are taking desperate measures to attract on official bid for the Argentine striker.

Any offer close to £78m will see Higuain as the most expensive striker of all time.

The 29-year old attacker scored 36 goals in 35 league appearances for Napoli last season and broke the record of most number of goals in a single Serie A campaign.

DONE DEAL : Arsenal sign a promising young defender

At last, here some good news for Arsenal fan. Arsenal are showing some activity in the transfer window. They have secured the services of a promising young defender Rob Holding from Bolton.

One of the major concerns of Arsenal were their heart of the defence. There was no reliable partner for Laurent Koscielny for the past couple of seasons. Per Mertesacker has gone past his prime and Gabriel is yet to adjust in the Premier League, so Holding is a welcome addition.

The new recruit is twenty years old, but he is no stranger in English football. He has played for Bolton and he was elected their player of the year last season. He was selected for England U21 for Toulon Tournament as well and did win it. Holding progressed in the youth rank of Bolton and debuted last season against Burton and played 30 games for them.

The talented youngster’s blocking and interceptions are very good and he is very mature and composed in this young age. Still, there are lots of things he needs to improve, but age is always at his side.

Normally, he was delighted with this move. He gave an interview in the official website of Arsenal and told that he was over the moon as soon as he heard the news. The 20 year old has also said that the competition in Arsenal team will help him become a better footballer. He is a center-back, but he is comfortable in right back too and the playing style of Arsenal is the main attraction for this move, he had told in his first interview.

Certainly, he will not start from the beginning, but he can be a useful squad player with lots of potential and future. And in future he can be an asset.

He will wear the number 16 jersey which is vacated by Aaron Ramsey. His transfer is undisclosed, but is believed to be near 2 million pounds and it is Arsenal’s third signing of the summer after Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asanoand Arsenal have hinted more transfers in coming weeks via their website.

Arsenal vs Lens match preview and possible lineup

Arsenal are without a host of first team stars ahead of the pre-season friendly against Lens but expect a strong starting line-up.

It’s the first pre-season friendly of the season and Arsene Wenger will take his players to the north of France for the matchup against the Ligue 2 side. It will be the last chance for Wenger to see his team in action before he travels with his squad to the United States for a pre-season tour. The whirlwind U.S. trip will see the Gunners take on an MLS All-Stars team on 28 July before a match against Chivas Guadalajara on 31 July. The Gunners will also take on Viking FK before a match against Manchester City.

Kick-off is 7:00pm GMT and the match is beings streamed live on the Arsenal website here.

Team News

Arsenal are obviously missing a number of first team players following the European Championships and Copa America tournaments this summer. Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny, and Olivier Giroud all reached the latter stages of the tournaments for their respective teams and have been given an extended break by the club.

However there are a number of big name players who could feature including Per Mertesacker, Theo Walcott, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Expect a mix of youth and experience from the Arsenal line-up with changes aplenty.

Possible Starting XI:

Emiliano Martinez

Calum Chambers

Gabriel

Per Mertesacker

Nacho Monreal

Francis Coquelin

Mohamed Elneny

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Iwobi

Jeff Reine-Adelaide

Theo Walcott

Subs: Gedion Zelalem, Ben Sheaf, Krystian Bielik, Joel Campbell, Marcus McGuane, Yaya Sanogo, Chuba Akpom, Chris Willock

Lens under the Lens

Arsenal’s opponents Lens were relegated from Ligue 1 in 2015 and finished 6th in Ligue 2 last year. The club won Ligue 1 as early as 18 years ago but has since moved into somewhat obscurity. Manager Alain Casanova took over in the summer and has so far brought in a number of players including former PSG goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez as well as former Spurs midfielder John Bostock. Arsenal signed attacking midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide from the club last season.

Prediction: 3-1 Arsenal’s quality to edge it out in a rusty performance.

Arsenal linked again with this French man

The search for a striker is Arsene Wenger’s worst nightmare this summer.

The two forwards at the club, Danny Welbeck (who is injured) and Olivier Giroud (who presumably is not good enough for Wenger) were not able to impress the manager in the last season and it is evident that they are out of favor next season as Wenger continues to search all over Europe for a top class striker.

Recent reports have suggested that the club may be close to striking a deal with Argentine striker Mauro Icardi but no official word is yet out on the rumor.

So it looks like the club will still be in the market for an attacking option and this has seen themlinked with Lyon’s in-form striker Alexander Lacazette.

Arguably one of the most consistent strikers in Europe at the moment, Lacazette has been a great asset for the French side Lyon who have been able to keep him at the club in spite of interests from top European clubs last summer.

But his exploits in another season of League 1 has now seen more clubs move for him and the player may end up leaving France this summer.

So naturally, one of the first teams to be linkedwith his move is from London.

The 25-year old is a natural striker who will score goals in any league. He is strong, tall and still quick making him a great asset for clubs in the Premier League.

However, he is currently unsettled at the club and is looking to leave Lyon in search of a bigger challenge.

His quality has seen him linked with the likes ofPSG as well but with desperation setting in at the Emirates, Wenger may well make a final approach for the Frenchman.

The 25-year old will cost any club who makes a move for him around the €50m mark which should not be a problem for both PSG and Arsenal and the Gunners will have to act quickly to get their man in this situation.

A lot of clubs will join the race for Lacazette’s signature if he is really up for sale this summer and it will be interesting to see how Wenger deals with this transfer come the end of the transfer window.

Your views: Arsenal star set to join Manchester City

In previous transfer windows, Arsenal garnered a negative reputation for selling some of their best players to title rivals in the Premier League. One of the most frequent recipients has been Manchester City, bringing former Gunners Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna to the Etihad. Recent rumours have suggested that the Citizens are attempting a fourth raid on the north London club, with Pep Guardiola apparently interested in Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, though it’s difficult to imagine the transfer going through.

All the signs from Arsenal are indicating that the club are serious with their intentions to pursue major silverware ahead of the upcoming season, already signing more players than the previous summer. Manager Arsene Wenger will be wanting to end their Premier League trophy drought in the final year of his contract, and significantly strengthening a direct rival would put the title beyond his reach. The Gunners finished ahead of City last season, but Bellerin has the quality to instantly elevate any club, and would probably upset the balance between the two sides.

Arsenal have already stated that they do not want to sell the Spanish defender, and they would only be willing to sell if Bellerin changes his mind about staying. Even if that happens, City are the last team that they would agree terms with, and would probably prefer a cheaper deal with Barcelona to avoid handing another Premier League side the advantage.

Atiku Abubakar Finally Annnounces His 2019 Presidential Ambition

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has reportedly met with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to discuss his presidential ambition in the year 2019.

Atiku Abubakar

The Leadership reports that the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of Nigeria is still nursing his ambition to be the President of Nigeria in the year 2019.

He aroused the suspicions of the general public by an August visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Chief John Odigie-Oyegun at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, yesterday, 18th of July, 2016.

Atiku, who has not visited the APC secretariat since the last National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in April this year with President Muhammadu Buhari also in attendance, came with the full complement of his media team however, he did not speak to journalists who were waiting to interview him.

Atiku, who entered the national secretariat of APC at 12:50 unannounced, came in the company of the Adamawa State governor, Muhammad Bindow Jibrila, even as they walked straight to the national chairman’s office.

Chief Oyegun and his visitors met behind closed doors for about 20 minutes before they allowed other national officers into the meeting.

When newsmen sought to know reasons for the sudden visit, it was gathered that Atiku actually came to familiarise himself with the party leaders ahead of the party’s presidential primary in 2019.

Atiku may have Buhari to contend with again in the next 3 years after losing to him in the party primaries in the year 2014.

Arsenal Transfer Report: €30m-rated Serie A captain close to join Gunners & “New Neymar” to Arsenal

According to the Sky Sports reports, Inter Milan forward  Mauro Icardi is set for talks with Premier League giants Arsenal over a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The same source insists that Argentinian star has planned to travel to London next week and discuss joining the Gunners as they look for potential alternatives to Napoli forward Gonzalo Gonzalo Higuain, who is on the verge to join Italian champions Juventus.

And it is understood the 23-year-old would be available around €50-70 million despite having a release clause of €94m.

Icardi has been one of the best forwards in Serie A and key player for Roberto Mancini and his exit from Giuseppe Meazza stadium would be huge blow for Italian giants.

Meanwhile, Italian newspaper Calciomercato, Arsenal have reportedly seen their £25million bid rejected for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

Arsenal have been long-term admirers of a 21-year old defender, but it seems that they will miss out the signing of the highly-rated defender.

Italian giants Napoli are interested signing Juventus ace, who has not always been a regular for Massimiliano Allegri’s side and might be thinking of leaving the team.

However, Italian champions are planning to keep the talented defender in Turing and develop him into one of the best defenders in the world and with the Bonucci’s possible departure from Old Lady Ruganni seems to be an ideal candidate to replace 29-year-old defender.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been boosted in the pursuit of talented Brazilian winger Gabriel Barbosa, who has dropped a huge hint at Emirates move with stating that he had his last game with Santos.

“I played as if it was my last game here,” he said. “Soon you will know something.”

Gabriel, also known as Gabigol in Brazil, has been dubbed his compatriot Neymar due to his sparkling form in since his debut in 2013.

Like Neymar, Gabigol is also linked with a move to Europea and Arsenal are believed to be favourites to secure his signature.

The forward later posted a picture on Instagram looked like he was saying goodbye to the Fans

“My heart is Alvinegro, and it will always beat for you. Santos are my life. I will love you until death.”

PHOTOS: 20-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To Three Sets Of Twins In 26 Months & Uses No Fertility Drugs

A 20 year old woman named Danish Couch from Kansas has given birth to three sets of twins in a little over two years, with the latest born last month.

“People just consider me a freak of nature when I tell them,” said the 20-year-old mom, who apparently has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month.

Couch delivered two boys 26 months ago but one of them died from complications of premature birth. Fourteen months later, twin girls Delilah and Davina, were born. The third set, Dalanie and Darla, both girls, were born last month. They came home after three weeks in neonatal intensive care.

“So you have two eggs simutaneously coming down the tubes getting ready to be fertilised,” Dr. Elizabeth Wickstorm of Shawnee Mission Medical Centre told WDAF.

The twins are all fraternal, meaning that they are from two separate eggs being fertilised, not from an egg splitting. Couch is engaged to the father of the second and third set of twins, Jeffrey Presler and are planning to get married on September. Presler is an aquarium technician and also works at Gas-mart.

“I love babies, but maybe in 10 to 15 years, when these ones are big enough to help,” she told Inside Edition. The young family have been denied benefits.

“I have tried to sign up for benefits and got denied…I try best I can as a mother but sometimes I need help and honestly I am not too proud to ask,” said Couch.

NEWS: After banning Post UTME, the Federal Government has announced the cancellation of interview test for National Common Entrance Examination (NCCE) into Federal Government Colleges.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has announced the cancellation of the interview test for National Common Entrance Examination, NCCE, into Federal Government colleges.

A statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education yesterday in Abuja, said the cancellation of the test for NCCE would take effect from the 2017/2018 academic year.

The statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press, Bem Goong, said the minister could not establish the rationale for a second test for NCCE organised by the National Examination Council, NECO.

“The second test is an unnecessary additional financial burden on parents/guardians,” it quoted Mr. Adamu as saying.

“The era of multiple examinations attracting prohibitive fees cannot be accommodated by the Buhari administration, especially against the backdrop of government’s determination to increase access to education as a platform for breaking the cycle of poverty.’’

The statement said Mr. Adamu maintained that the 2016/2017 academic year remained the effective date for the ban on Post-UTME, advising vice-chancellors to adhere strictly to the policy in the overriding public interest.

Real Madrid manager refusing to rule out Arsenal target Morata’s exit

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has refused to rule out an exit for Alvaro Morata this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal both linked.

The striker returned to the Spanish capital from Juventus in the current window, after Real triggered his buy-back clause, which was included in his sale two years back.

It was previously believed that he would be sold on for a profit after leaving Juve, but no potential suitors are claimed to have offered the fee needed to persuade the Galacticos to sell.

Zidane has now moved to insist he is happy to have Morata with his playing squad, but could not refuse to rule out a possible exit during the window however.

“He [Morata] is another member of this team. He’s back and I’m happy to have him,” said Zidane.

“He is an academy product, who knows what Real Madrid is and truthfully we are, and me above all, happy to have him with us. Later we’ll see…

“We have a large squad and all the players will be important. Alvaro will be one more of the team.”

The Spain international is unlikely to displace Karim Benzema as the club’s first choice striker, after the Frenchman netted a personal record of 24 league goals in the previous campaign.

Morata is unlikely to be happy to play only a limited amount of football this season, and could still end up pushing for a move should he not be guaranteed regular action.

Our bid to bring in a striker this summer has so far stuttered, and if Arsene Wenger can not find a better value-for-money option, maybe he could still end up raising his offer for Morata, with £57 Million believed to be needed to tempt the Spanish giants into selling.

Are we confident that we will find the striker needed before the season kicks off next month?

Agent Confirms: Arsenal star won't be involved in Higuain deal

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud’s agent has stated that his client is not leaving London to land for Serie A club Napoli.

Done Deal: Gunners technically gifted winger Wellington Silva officially joins the South American side

Gunners South American winger Wellington has officially left Arsenal to join Brazilian side Fluminense as confirmed by the club on their official twitter account.

He has moved to Arsenal in 2010 however he failed to get a work permit that prevented him from playing for Gunners. Alternatively, he spent time on loan in Spain with Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria.

Eventually, in the 2015-16 campaign that he received his work permit to perform for Arsenal. Gunners being choc-a-bloc with attacking midfielders there’s no way Silva could make his route into the first team plans of French manager Arsene Wenger.

Wellington was finally sent out on loan to Bolton Wanderers, where he did make a great impression, having played 22 games and netted two goals.

And now the 23-year-old winger, is still nowhere close to representing Gunners and has subsequently made the choice to call time in London and to return to Fluminense.

“I am very happy. I want to thank Fluminense for this opportunity after so long to go back, I’m eager to start. I am very anxious, really it is like the first time,” Wellington said (quoted by ESPN)

“[My] Desire to return has always existed. When I learned that it was possible I was nervous for 10 days. I am very happy and I have no words to thank. Now I have to train and get on to the field as quickly as possible.” – He Added.

Arsene Wenger eyes surprise move for £12m rated versatile Man City defender Deanayer

As The Sun reports, Gunners want to raid Premier League rivals Manchester City for centre-back Jason Denayer this summer.

Arsenal have already signed up midfielder Granit Xhaka and the forward Takuma Asano this summer. However, the manager Arsene Wenger may now be looking to add a defensive option to his squad.

The French defender Laurent Koscielny was a mainstay in the club last term, and although the Frenchman does have Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista at his disposal, a fourth centre back seems to be the preference for Wenger.

And as The Sun suggest Gunners are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Matthias Ginter, who can operate at right back, centre back or in defensive midfield, however, they also have their sights on a Premier League defender.

It’s said that Arsenal wants to make Manchester City’s Jason Denayer, their third summer signing who has yet to make his first-team debut for the club.

The 21-year-old defender, spent last campaign on loan with Turkish club Galatasaray, playing 28 games in all tournaments before heading back to Man City this summer.

The ex-Celtic loanee now seems to be a top target for Gunners, with The French manager keen to land a highly-rated young star and the Belgian, who played for his country at the last European Championships, could be signed for just £12m.
